Welcome to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville!
As new faculty at UT Knoxville, you will come to find that faculty have access to a wide variety of supportive services and resources that will help make your experience here extremely rewarding. To provide our students with the Volunteer Experience, it begins with you: our faculty. Therefore, the Teaching and Learning Center is proud to present the New Faculty Teaching Institute, an annual program dedicated to connecting new UT Knoxville faculty to the University’s resources.
The NFTI, sponsored by the Provost’s office, provides key information on student demographics at UT Knoxville to better understand how to actively engage students in the classroom, as well as discussing our University’s teaching policies and support services. This is your opportunity to network with fellow faculty members across a wide variety of academic disciplines.
In 2017, NFTI took place on August 3 and 4, with as many as 60 new faculty members attending various sessions. There will be an optional third day of NFTI taking place on August 9 in Hodges Library, with sessions focusing on Canvas training and course design.
